WWE’s WrestleMania Season has officially concluded but it did not just end without any good news. The wrestling promotion announced that it broke two records during the season. This is thanks to the long-awaited pay-per-view event that took place recently at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome last Sunday.
WWE has just broken another record after accommodating 78,133 fans from all 50 states and 67 countries in the recent WrestleMania. The event became Mercedes-Benz Superdome’s highest grossing entertainment event with $14.1 million in records. This exceeded the data of $10.9 million reported back in WrestleMania 30 in 2014.
Network Subscriber Record
WWE Network has recently reported that the digital streaming service has reached 2.1 Million Subscribers after the Wrestlemania season. This was a 9% increase in a year over year basis. Also, the total paid subscribers hit 1.81 million, from April 3, 2017 up to the day after WrestleMania last year.
The wrestling company’s network subscribers also recorded 25.2 million hours during the WrestleMania Week. This was a 14 hours per subscriber record compared to 22.5 million hours last year in the previous year. Also, this was a 12% year-over-year upsurge.
“We expect to deliver record subscriber levels, revenue and Adjusted OIBDA in 2018,” WWE Co-President George Barrios, told reports. “WWE Network’s continued growth along with our massive reach across traditional television as well as digital and social platforms, reaffirms the effectiveness of our global, multi-platform content strategy.”
WWE First Quarter 2018 Results
Wrestling company WWE has also recently announced the date for the release of its first quarter results for 2018 which will be on May 3, 2018. The company will host a conference call with Chairman & CEO, Vincent K. McMahon, and Co-Presidents, George A. Barrios and Michelle D. Wilson.
